A Salina man was injured after a motorcycle-Jeep accident early Tuesday afternoon.

Kyle Grace, 20, of Salina, was westbound on East Magnolia Road on a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when an eastbound 2012 Jeep Wrangler driven by Donna Basgill, 77, of Salina, turned left onto Markley Road in front of the motorcycle, causing it to strike the Jeep, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning. The accident occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Grace, who was wearing a helmet and safety glasses, sustained road rash to his right arm and leg and had a laceration on his head, Forrester noted. Grace was transported to Salina Regional Health Center by private vehicle, he added.

The motorcycle had disabling damage to the front end and was towed from the scene, while the Jeep sustained rear passenger-side damage, according to Forrester.

Basgill was cited for failure to yield the right of way while turning left, he noted.
