NEW ORLEANS, La. - Just a week out from this year's NJCAA Region VI Championships, both Cloud County Community College cross country teams have made moves up the polls in the latest United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association Coaches Polls released on Wednesday, October 21st.
This week's polls find the T-Bird women moving up one spot up to the number two spot, trailing just top-ranked Iowa Central Community College while the CCCC men have moved up two spots from number seven up to number five. The move up for the Cloud County women sees the T-Birds with their highest ranking of the year as the first three polls of the season has seen CCCC hold the number three spot with the T-Birds now the third different team to fill into the number two position behind the Tritons who have been ranked atop the poll the entire season.
The two-spot climb for the T-Bird men has Cloud County back in the top-five for the first time since the first poll of the season back on September 9th as CCCC has come in ranked seventh in each of the previous two polls. Each of the top-four teams in the country from the week three poll remained the same as Iowa Central, Iowa Western, Southern Idaho, and Hutchinson held on to their respective positions in the latest poll that sees 21 teams ranked with just three weeks remaining prior to the NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.
