David Mahaffey, 80, of Enterprise, passed away June 5, 2022 at Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City. He was born in Morton, Mississippi April 30, 1942, the son of Harold Mahaffey and Nora Regions.
He married JoAnn Ray. They later divorced. In 1984 he married Meg Pratt. She preceded him in death in 2006.
David served in the Army and later working in civil services.
David is survived by his children Tonya Mahaffey, Marietta Aponte and Shane Mahaffey, stepchildren Jodie Tyrrell, Carmen McTernan, Lesley and Jason Sanders, siblings Billy Jo Mahaffey, Nancy Green, Glenn Mahaffey and Elaine Ratcliffe, nine grandchildren, and his ex-wife, JoAnn Ray.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Meg Pratt and one sister, Sarah Porter.
The family has chosen cremation. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m.., Monday, July 11, 2022 at Danner Funeral Home in Abilene.
The family suggests memorials be given to Abilene Hospice in his and Meg Mahaffey’s Memory. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Danner Funeral Home, 501 N. Buckeye, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
