The Saline County Road and Bridge Department has announced mutiple locations where it plans chip seal work.
On Monday, the department will begin a chip seal operation on various roadways located in the county (see list below).
Flaggers and a pilot car will direct one lane of traffic through construction. Drivers should be prepared for a delay of up to 15 minutes and plan extra time in their travel schedules.
Weather permitting, this construction is anticipated to be completed by Oct. 1. After construction, traffic is requested to travel at 35 mph on the chip sealed roads until the “Loose Gravel” signs are removed from the road.
Following are the locations for the chip seal project, according to the department.
Country Club Road, Eastborough Road to Dickinson county line
N. Donmyer Road, UPRR Tracks at Old 40 Highway to Country Club Road
E. Magnolia Road, Salina city limits to Kipp Road
Smolan Road, Burma Road to Interstate 135
S. Ohio Street, E. Water Well north 0.5 of a mile
Water Well Road, S. Ninth Street to S. Ohio Street
E. Schilling Road, Kipp west 0.75 of a mile
Bartley Heights subdivision, includes Robson Road, Leisure Road, and Bartley Road
Clearview Road, N. Old Highway 81 north 860 feet
W. Shipton Road, Thompson Road to Halstead Road
N. Halstead Road, W. Shipton Road to Interstate 70
Shipton Road, Old Highway 81 to N. Ohio St
Kipp Road, Kansas Highway 4 to Country Club Road
