Ronald J. “Ron” Harvey, 80, of Evansville, IN passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2025 at Ascension Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Ron was born February 3, 1945 in Salina, KS to the late Joseph and Louise Harvey. He graduated Gypsum High School, Gypsum, KS and attended McPherson College. Ron was in the Army Reserves after college. He was in the transportation industry for over 40 years. The family located to Evansville, IN for Ron to be in the office of Agency Services and Development at Atlas Van Lines.
Ron was known for his humor and quick wit. He loved traveling, reading, and football and later in life visiting his grandkids. He was excellent at giving advice, with a combination of empathy and intelligence to navigate any situation.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Susann, his adoring children, son Kris (Lisa) and his daughters Lori (Amy) and Sherri (Dennis) and four grandchildren, George, Eliott, Natalie, and Hayden.
Funeral services were privately held at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue. A Celebration of Life will be held in Gypsum, KS in the summer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Ron.
