From a video courtesy of Deer Creek Drones LLC, the log jam near Bill Burke and Indian Rock Parks is officially cleared.

The log jam started its pileup on July 19 and after significant rain events, eventually accumulated stacks of logs clogging the Smoky Hill River.

On July 28, the City of Salina approved a quote of $411,231 with a (10%) construction contingency from DIEHL Enterprises Inc. (Salina based) to remove the log jam. However, heavy rainfall continued to occur and worsen the pileup causing the City to put in additional costs to the project, resulting in upwards of $1 million.

The City will receive federal assistance after suffering from July's significant weather events.
