A suspect is at large after leading Salina Police officers on a Wednesday evening pursuit.
Salina Police Sergeant Tonniges said this morning that at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, an officer witnessed a silver 2004 Pontiac Grand Am being operated with an expired tag near the intersection of Morrison and Montrose streets in Salina.
The officer attempted to perform a traffic stop and the vehicle took off.
"From Morrison and Montrose the vehicle went south down to Prescott," Tonniges said. "They [the suspect] went through an alley near the intersection of College and Prescott avenue."
Tonniges said due to dust the officers lost sight of the suspect and terminated the pursuit. Responding officers did manage to get a tag number on the vehicle.
Tonniges said officers are working to identify the driver.
