Salina Police Department (SPD) officers are investigating the theft of a commercial truck that occurred yesterday, October 7, from an outdoor storage area in northwest Salina.
According to a witness, a blue 1996 Freightliner truck was seen driving through a gate belonging to Ferco Rental before turning north onto Broadway Avenue.
SPD Cpt. James Feldman said the witness, who immediately contacted the SPD, described the driver as a white male and noted the possibility of a second suspect inside the truck. No further details about the suspects were available.
The truck, displaying Kansas Power license plate 717090, is valued at $30,000. The gate, made of two cattle panels, sustained approximately $400 in damages. The truck's keys were reportedly left inside at the time of the theft.
