Agenda items

Commissioners are scheduled to consider approving an equipment use agreement with North Salina Community Development so that the county can provide roll off dumpsters and necessary equipment and staff to assist the organization with a clean-up project near Dry Creek. The request falls in line with a priority from the commission visioning session: litter/tire clean-up.

A request to award a bid for the indexing of property records also is on the county agenda. On June 21, the commission authorized the use of $200,000 in funding from the County’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund for imaging and indexing property records "to provide broader access to ownership, liens, easements, and other important property records affecting a parcel of land." Currently, records prior to 1995 necessitate a physical search in the Register of Deeds office.

Commissioners also are scheduled to consider a request from Saline County Clerk Jamie Doss to destroy records from election years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 per Kansas statutes.

Other items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday include the following.

●Consider a proposed revision of the county addressing policy.

●Hear an update concerning the county's new website.

●Hear the Department of Senior Services quarterly update.

●Hear the Road and Bridge Department's bi-monthly update.

At the conclusion of the meeting, commissioners are scheduled to meet in a study session concerning vacating part of Chestnut Street in Bridgeport.
