SALINE COUNTY - A deer was reportedly poached and left headless in Saline County.
According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office on Friday at around 11:40 am, a male resident near the 1900 block of North Kipp Road reported of finding a headless white-tailed deer.
The day before, the man heard a gunshot at around 4:30 pm. He then found tire tracks, which led him to find the headless deer.
According to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, regular rifle season for deer in the state is December 3 through December 14, 2025.
