September 11, 1929 - September 21, 2021

Alice’s life began on September 11, 1929 the daughter of Donald and Gladys (Carver) Sitler in Frankfort, Kansas. She graduated from El Dorado High Class of 1947 and married Herbert C. Dyck on November 28, 1948 on the family farm in Whitewater.

Alice was a homemaker and a secretary for 16 years at Missouri Baptist Hospital from where she retired. She loved genealogy, politics and the churches she attended – United Methodist Churches in Washington, Kansas and Manchester, Missouri. She was an excellent cook and was willing to try any new recipe and accomplish it to perfection. After retirement she taught French in the grade school and took in eleven exchange students.

Her loving family includes her sons Frederick Dyck of Cameron, Missouri, Justin Dyck, Nathan Dyck (Julie) all of St. Louis, Missouri; daughters Christine Sehnert of Whitewater, Deborah Blackwell of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herbert in 2012; daughter Marie Gunn; and siblings Joyce Burkhart and Lyle Sitler.

Alice passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the age of 92 years old.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 1t 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Washington, Kansas.
