Larry D. Brake, 74, Minneapolis, formerly of Atlanta, GA, died Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Minneapolis Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Larry was born November 3, 1949, in Salina to Dennis L. and Jeanette Irene (Mason) Brake.

He was a 1967 graduate of Minneapolis High School and then attended Hutchinson Juco and Kansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After working in Kansas and Wisconsin, Larry moved to Atlanta in 1972 and returned to Minneapolis earlier this year. While in Atlanta he worked for Trane for nine years before opening his own business, Brake and Hayden, from 1981 to 1995. After retiring he drove in Atlanta as an Uber driver.

He loved traveling internationally, country line dancing, watching the Atlanta Braves, and playing poker.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Maricel of the Philippines; children, Matt, Amanda, and Luke; siblings, Dianna Brake Stolzenburg, Bob Muller, Melinda Muller Wolfe, and Evan Muller.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 10, 2024, at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the M.H.S. Alumni Scholarship Fund and left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
