An Abilene man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested after allegedly fleeing police in north Salina Thursday night.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday, an officer noticed a Ford F-150 pickup traveling southbound in the 1600 block of N. Ninth Street at a higher-than-posted rate of speed, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The pickup turned west onto Inez Avenue. As the officer was initiating a traffic stop, the pickup stopped abruptly and the driver fled on foot, Forrester said.
A passenger in the pickup identified the driver as Jayreece Jones, 27, of Abilene. Jones was known to the officer to have several outstanding warrants, Forrester said.
K-9 Rodi was brought in to track Jones, who was found a couple of blocks away hiding under a camper.
Jones was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants from Saline County District Court, multiple outstanding warrants from Salina Municipal Court, and a warrant from Dickinson County. Additionally, he was arrested on the following requested charges, Forrester said.

●Speeding
●Driving while suspended
●No seat belt
