Verle D. Simpson, 92, of Salina, passed away on March 6, 2022 in Salina, KS.
Verle was born in Topeka, KS to Oscar and Vera Simpson on December 1, 1929. Verle graduated Salina High school and attended Kansas Wesleyan.
He served in the Army, 42nd Engineering Construction Battalion during the Korean War.
He married Doris E. Peterson in 1953. They were married for 67 wonderful years.
He worked as the production manager for Premier Pneumatics for 30 years, retiring in 1996.
Verle was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Verle is survived by his spouse Doris; daughter Jeri Terkildsen; son Marty (Doreen) both of Salina; five grandchildren; Ricky Duncan (Marlene); Cari Miller (Scott); Paige, Brooke and Drew Simpson and four great-grandchildren.
Verle was preceded in death by his parents and sister Marleen Freeman.
The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15th at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Wounded Warrior Project in care of Ryan Mortuary.
