If you enjoy gardens or spending time in a beautiful yard, you won't want to miss the upcoming Central Kansas District Extension Master Gardeners Biennial Garden Tour.
The tour is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 9. Tickets are $15 per person and are on sale now. There is no admission charge for children age 10 and younger.
Tickets are available at Waters Hardware and Garden Center, 460 S. Ohio, and the K-State Extension Office, 2218 Scanlan Avenue. Tickets also can be purchased online at www.ckdgardentour.evenbrite.com. Tickets also will be available at any participating garden on the day of the tour.
Included in the tour are the Master Gardeners Public Demonstration Garden in Kenwood Park and five private gardens in and around Salina, including the following.
The Gardener's Dream, 1975 N. Halstead Road
The Succulent Paradise, 1724 Eaglecrest Road
The Passionate Gardner, 512 Country Club Road
Whimsical Garden of Eden, 2317 Belmont Boulevard
The Garden Retreat, 22 Crestview Drive
According to Jason Graves, horticulture extension agent with the Central Kansas District, money raised will go toward the expansion and maintenance of the Master Gardeners Public Demonstration Garden and other Master Gardener community projects including Children’s Gardens, horticulture awards at the Tri-Rivers Fair, Master Gardener outreach events, and more.
