A Salina man with multiple active warrants led police on a chase Sunday afternoon while riding a scooter.
At approximately 3:45 p.m. Sunday, an officer observed the driver of a black Genuine Buddy 50 scooter fail to use a turn signal while turning from E. Ash Street to N. Penn Avenue. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on N. Penn Avenue, but the scooter driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.
From N. Penn Avenue, the scooter went west on E. Elm Street before turning into an alley and pulling into the backyard of a residence at 710 E. Elm Street. At that point, the driver fled on foot, but was soon apprehended in the backyard of the residence, Forrester said.

The scooter driver, identified as Tyrone Fenton, 43, of Salina, was arrested on multiple active failure to appear warrants from Salina Municipal Court and Saline County District Court, as well as the following requested charges, Forrester said.
●Flee and elude
●Interference with a law enforcement officer
●Driving while suspended
