Kansas Wesleyan's Rylee Serpan has earned the KCAC Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week honor for her efforts for the Coyotes last week. Serpan's selection comes from a pool of nominees as selected by conference sports information directors.
Serpan's outstanding efforts helped KWU earn a share of the KCAC regular-season title this season, the first regular-season title since 2017. Serpan tallied her 464th kill of the season, leaving her on the cusp of becoming only the fifth KWU player all-time to reach the 500-kill plateau in a season.
She was big in both wins for the Coyotes this week, averaging 4.5 per set, including 16 against Evangel, a match in which she only had one hitting error on the day. She also added three blocks against Evangel, and added another against York. She had 5.0 points per set on the week.
This is the second time this season Serpan has been named the KCAC Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week.KCAC claimed a share of the KCAC Women's Volleyball regular season championship with a 12-1 record in KCAC play.
The Coyotes will be the No. 2 seed in the KCAC tournament which begins Tuesday with first-round games at campus sites.KWU received a first-round bye and will play the winner between Saint Mary and Sterling on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the KCAC quarterfinals at the Sports Arena in Hutchinson.
