James B. Peltier

James “Jim” B. Peltier, 83 years of age, of Concordia passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Sunset Nursing Center in Concordia. He was born in Concordia, Kansas, on November 10, 1940, to Leo and Isabell (Schuetz) Peltier.
Jim was a 1958 graduate of Concordia Catholic High School, Concordia, Kansas.
Jim served in the United States Army National Guard from 1962-1968 and was honorably discharged.
On October 24, 1964, he married Theresa Istas at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas. They were faithfully married for 59 years. To this union seven children were born, Donna, Greg, Brian, Lisa, Terry, Amy and Scott.
Jim was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council #1142, American Legion Post #76 all of Concordia.
When Jim wasn’t busy working, he enjoyed farming and working the land, with his two brothers Dave and Max. Jim also enjoyed attending all the local Panther and T-Birds sporting events, he was a true fan. Most of all Jim truly loved watching his grandchildren participate in all sports, and any of their school functions, activities that his grandchildren were a participant in.
Jim worked for Peltier Foundry in Concordia for 55 years. He was also a local farmer in partnership with his two brothers, Dave and Max Peltier.
Jim is survived by his wife, Theresa Peltier, Concordia, KS; three daughters, Donna (Greg) Brummett, Wichita, KS, Lisa (David) Canfield, Concordia, KS; Amy (Jeff) Gose, St. Joseph, MO; four sons, Greg (Tami) Peltier, Concordia, KS; Brian (Valeri) Peltier, Andover, KS; Terry (Kristin) Peltier of Concordia, KS, Scott (Gentry) Peltier, Derby, KS; thirteen grandchildren, Garrett (Marie) Brummett, Brynn (Jordan) Miller, Makaila Peltier, Maddison Peltier, Stepheni Peltier, Emily Peltier, Gage (Samantha) Canfield, Ben Peltier, Tim Peltier, Logan (Laura) Gose, Noah Gose, Owen Peltier, and Reid Peltier; one great grandchild, Ames Brummett; two brothers, David (Sue) Peltier, Max (LaDonna) Peltier of Concordia, KS; three sisters, Regina (Tom) Kiesler, Clarksburg, MD; Elizabeth Wedel, Port Washington, WI & Mary Anne (Steve) Laroe, Linden, WA; many nieces and nephews; honorary daughter, Darcy Bluma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Don Wedel.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 pm, Friday, December 22, 2023, with the family receiving friends from 5-7 pm all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
A Parish Rosary will be prayed on Saturday, morning, December 23, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Parish Hall, Concordia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas, with Fr. Joseph Kieffer officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Concordia Catholic Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
