Richard Kirby Allen, 84, Minneapolis, died Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his son’s home in rural Salina. Kirby was born March 18, 1940, in Waycross, GA to Joe B. and Jesse (Sweat) Allen.

Kirby and Velena I. Woods were united in marriage on July 10, 1961. She preceded him in death on April 29, 2016. Kirby worked as a salesman for Warta Buick for many years. After he retired, he drove for the Ottawa County Health Department Public Transportation for several years.&nbsp;

Besides Velena, he was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Scott Allen; and brothers, Artis, Larry, and Edward.

Survivors are his son, Joe Allen and wife, Angela; daughter-in-law, Tami Fabrizius and husband, Mike; brothers, Andy, Mike, and Rick; sisters, Linda, Marlene, and Doris; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Ottawa County Health Department Public Transportation and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
