Multiple tools stolen from SW Salina house being remodeled

A number of power tools and hand tools were among the items stolen from a house being remodeled in southwest Salina.

A 50-year-old man from Texas told police that he received a message about 8 a.m. Friday from someone doing yard work on his property in the 1200 block of Fairway Avenue that the back door to the house was open, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

The man discovered a number of items missing, most from a detached garage. Forrester said items missing included the following.

●A Milwaukee Packout System tool box valued at $500

●An Occidental tool belt valued at $200

●A Milwaukee battery drill valued at $320

●A Milwaukee circular saw valued at $300

●A bag of miscellaneous hand tools valued at $1,000

●A Bosch multi-tool valued at $250

●A Bosch power cleaner valued at $250

●A Cobalt air compressor valued at $280

Forrester said total loss was estimated at slightly more than $3,000.
