Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Troy Eugene Farmer lost his valiant battle with cancer on September 20, 2024, at the age of 57.

Born on June 14, 1967 in Great Bend, Kansas, of Albert Farmer and Espie Blackston, Troy was the youngest child of five, the only boy among four girls.

Troy grew up in Newton and Great Bend, graduating from Otis-Bison High School, class of 1985, before making his home in Larned, Kansas. He loved fishing, shooting, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, and against the Kansas City Chiefs.

On October 30, 2010, Troy married the love of his life Michelle Jené Kingsolver during a beautiful ceremony in Salina, Kansas, greatly expanding Troy’s previously small family, which brought him considerable joy participating in large family events, as well as hosting them at their home in Assaria, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Hrabe and Linda Koehn, brother-in-law Don Courson, niece Joni Hollingsworth and nephew Bo Montano.

Troy is survived by his wife Jené, sons Brandon (Kayla) and Wyatt (Erica), and bonus-children Zackary (Taylor) Kingsolver, Konnor Kingsolver, Jazlyn Kingsolver, Logan Kingsolver, Mackayla Kingsolver, and grandchildren Bentley Farmer, Juniper Farmer, Emma DeHerrera, Lily Kingsolver, and Maverick Kingsolver.

Each of us take comfort knowing Troy lived life his way, unapologetically, and left this world as he wanted, with his loving wife by his side, surrounded by family. We will all miss you, “Ol Roy Cobb,” you ornery cuss.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

A celebration of Troy's life will be held starting at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 24th. Internment will follow at Bean Cemetery at Little River, KS.

Troy’s greatest pride and joy were always his grandchildren. He was most proud of his role as “Papa.” To fulfill his legacy of love for them, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to payable Crick-Christians Funeral Home for the Troy Farmer Family Fund.
