Hillsboro - Viola Faye Lohrentz, 79, passed away August 2, 2022 at Newton Medical Center. She was born June 28, 1943 in Hillsboro to Frank and Martha (Franz) Peters.

She married Ray Lohrentz in July of 1998 in Hillsboro. Viola was married to Norman Funk for 31 years and together they had four children.

Survivors include husband Ray Lohrentz of Inman; son Jerry Funk of Buhler; daughters Karen Funk of McPherson, Kristy Funk of Brandon, Florida; brother, Virgil (KayLani) Peters of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister Neoma (Lester) Flaming of Buhler; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by a son, Arlin Funk, in 2002.

Celebration of Life service 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022 at Parkview M.B. Church officiated by Pastor Tom Byford. Committal service 10:00 a.m. Monday at Gnadenau cemetery, two miles South of Hillsboro. Family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
