Police are looking for the person who stole a bicycle from a central Salina residence Wednesday afternoon.
Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus said this morning that sometime between 2:30-3 p.m. Wednesday someone stole a red 24-inch men's Gary Fisher bicycle from a residence in the 900 block of Gypsum Avenue. The bicycle, which had yellow lettering and yellow spoked rims on it, had been padlocked to a gas meter at the residence.
The value of the bicycle was estimated at between $500-$1,100.
The owner, a 50-year-old man, told police that he might have seen someone riding the bicycle in the 1400-1500 blocks of E. Iron Avenue at approximately 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. The rider was believed to be a male who had a shorter, skinny build and was wearing a gray shirt and jeans, Hanus said.
Hanus asked that anyone who may have seen the person with this specific bicycle to call the Salina Police Department.
