The Abilene Cowgirls basketball team has gotten off to a slow start in 2020-21, taking a 3-9 record into the final month of the regular season.
Abilene has struggled to find consistency amidst a schedule riddled with cancellations and postponements.
So far the Cowgirls have missed five scheduled games, which has made it difficult for the team to establish a rhythm.
In a twelve game sample size, Abilene has been outscored by over 100 points, but has also faced a brutal schedule, with opponents like 12-0 Clay Center, 10-2 Wamego and 12-3 Hays TMP.
The road ahead won’t be much easier for the Cowgirls, as the teams final six games include rematches with Clay Center and Wamego.
Abilene will be back in action tonight when they host 4-7 Marysville.
