Two juvenile males are facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a Salina vape shop early Thursday morning and stealing vape cartridges valued at approximately $1,200.
Salina Police Department (SPD) CPT James Feldman said this morning that Officers responded to a burglary at Pak Rat, located at 695 S. Broadway, at around 7:30 a.m. on August 29. Employees arriving at the business discovered a broken window on the south side of the building. Surveillance footage revealed that two juveniles had broken into the shop around 12:30 a.m. and stole numerous vape cartridges before fleeing the scene.
Later that afternoon, at approximately 3:30 p.m. a worker from St. Francis spotted two reported runaways from the facility at Centennial Park.
When approached, the juveniles attempted to flee, dropping multiple vape cartridges as they ran. Salina Police Officers and Saline County Sheriff’s Office Deputies eventually located the suspects hiding behind a shed in the 800 block of Comanche.
The vape cartridges were confirmed to have come from Pak Rat, leading to the arrest of the two juveniles. Both suspects, aged 14 and 15, are now facing charges of burglary, damage to property, trespassing, and possession of electronic cigarettes.
The business is still assessing the total loss from the burglary.
