Kimberly Kay Pelsor

Kimberly Kay Pelsor, 61, of Ottawa, KS passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 26, 2023 at her home. She was born October 14, 1962 in Bucyrus, OH the daughter of Vernon Lewis Starr and Darlene (Laipply) Starr.
She enjoyed her early years of elementary school in North Robinson, Ohio, spending time with her grandparents, fun times with her great grandparents on their farm, and following her older brother to his many baseball games and tournaments. With a move to Minnesota, Kim’s family made their home in Maple Lake, Minnesota and a home on the lake. This is where Kim fell in love with the outdoor activities of the Minnesota summers and Minnesota winters. Summer brought swimming in the lake, water skiing and fishing. The winter brought plenty of snow, snowmobiling, ice skating, and ice fishing. During her high school years, she enjoyed participating in gymnastics and playing the flute in high school band. Another family move brought Kim to Olathe, Kansas where she attended and graduated from Olathe South High School. During her high school years at Olathe South, Kim continued with participation in band, gymnastics, and soft ball.
Kim worked as a CNA and a CMA working at Crestview Nursing Home, Ransom Memorial Hospital and the Christian Care Cottage all in Ottawa, KS. She later worked at the CO-OP - Casey’s Store in Ottawa, KS.
She was united in marriage to Ronald W. Pelsor on October 14, 1994 in Ottawa, KS. They shared over twenty-nine years of marriage. They enjoyed summers by taking their camper to local lakes for fishing or enjoyment of the outdoors. Kim and Ron also loved taking motorcycle rides and Kim took joy in taking the motorcycle on local errands. As a Kansas City Royals fan, watching the Royals was a “must” for Kim. Another hobby that Kim took delight in was her Diamond Art picture collection.
Kim is now in the loving arms of Jesus as she leaves behind her husband, Ron; two sons, Kenny Smith and Marcus Smith; her mother, Darlene Rudy and stepfather, Dough Rudy; brothers, Kris Starr and wife Kimberly, Kirk Starr and wife Anne, Shane Rudy and wife Amanda, Aubry Rudy and wife Megan; and many special nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Dale and Helen Laipply; her father, Vernon Starr; and her sister, Kerry Lynnette Starr.
To celebrate Kim’s life, a visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067.
