Brent serves as a traffic officer with the Salina Police Department.

"He works hard at his job serving our community and is never 'off' of work," Brent's nominator wrote.

Additionally, for a number of years, Brent has organized Fishing with a Cop, an event that gives local children the opportunity to fish with local Salina Police officers, Saline County Sheriff’s deputies, Kansas Highway Patrol troopers, and Kansas Wildlife and Parks officers. The mission of the non-profit, annual event “is to establish relationships with local law enforcement officers, reconnect kids to nature, reconnect kids to family, strengthen family relationships, and to increase participation in recreational angling.”
