
Margaret Ann Bergstrom, age 89, of Courtland, KS, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born on August 2, 1936, in Concordia, Kansas to John Rae and Alice (Moore)Hefner.
Margaret was a graduate of Concordia High School, Concordia, Kansas.
She married Elden Bergstrom, on June 3, 1956, at The Baptist Church, Concordia. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2018. To this union three children were born, Larry, Terry and Kevin.
She enjoyed sewing, camping, traveling, attending craft shows, and was an avid KSU sports fan where she was a season ticket holder for over 30 years. Margaret most of all loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Margaret was a cook for many years in the Courtland school system. She went on to work and retire from the Jamestown State Bank in Jamestown where she was a Teller.
She is survived by her two sons, Terry Bergstrom, Courtland, Kevin Bergstrom (Heather), Wamego; her grandchildren, Erik Bergstrom, Dea Bergstrom Novak (Mark), Danielle Haskett, Brett Bergstrom, Cade Bergstrom & Carli Bergstrom; 13 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Gloria Bergstrom, sister-in-law, Della Hefner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden Bergstrom, parents, John and Alice Hefner, son, Larry Bergstom, grandson-in-law, Lancyio Haskett, brother, William “Bud” Hefner, sister, Mary E. Smith (Glenn).
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Pastor Jol Klein officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas. The family has asked family and friends attending the services to wear KSU colors and to dress casual in memory of Margaret and her beloved KSU Wildcats! After the graveside service there will be a luncheon served for family and friends at the American Legion Post #76 Concordia.
