As we celebrate the holidays, the American Red Cross encourages donors to give a gift that means something – a blood donation!

Sadly, holiday fun can push blood donation to the bottom of the to-do list. Winter weather and seasonal illness can also impact the blood supply. 

Locally, the Salina Community Blood Drive this week is short of donors, and local Red Cross personnel are asking for your help.

The Salina Community Blood Drive is scheduled for noon to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the multipurpose room at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 825 E. Beloit Avenue.

All those who donate blood during the drive will receive a new design, long-sleeved Red Cross t-shirt while supplies last.
