Karen M. (Augustine) Allison, 71, of Salina, Kansas passed Wednesday April 5, 2023, at the Salina Regional Health Center.
She was born March 20, 1952, to Johnny Augustine and Delores (Freitag) Augustine in Hays, KS.
She married Darrell Allison on May 29, 1971, at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
In her earlier years, Karen worked as a waitress at the Big Key, Busy Bee, and Woolworth; she also was a stay-at-home mom for over 13 years. Karen worked at Wyatt’s Cafeteria, K-State of Salina and Senior companion care with individual ladies.
Karen was part of the Hedville ladies club, FCE group for 14 years, EHU club for 10 years, senior center, card playing group and so much more.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Delores Augustine and son, Donnie Allison.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell Allison of Salina; four daughters, Ali (Hollis) Wagner of Wichita, Ami Allison of Salina, Angie Allison of Salina, and April Allison of Texas; son, Darren Allison of Park City; 10 grandchildren, Mia, Rakeen, Haley, Casey, Alyssia, Aliyah, Arianna, Johnathan, Darren and Tishanti; two great-grandchildren, Keanu and Isaac; two brothers, Steve (Betty) Augustine of Hesston and Danny Jo (Dana) Augustine of Overland Park; and three sisters, Janet Augustine of Goodland, Carolyn Augustine and Marilyn Augustine both of Salina.
The Memorial Mass will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Sacred Hearth Cathedral, Salina, with the Rev. Fred Gatschet officiating. The rosary will be recited at 11:10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up an honor fund in Karen Allison’s memory for donations towards FCE (Family and Community Education). Karen has served in all the unit's leadership offices, president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. Checks may be made payable to FCE and left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.
