Red Fern Booksellers
Democrat candidates for Congress in Kansas’ 1st District, will be at Red Fern Booksellers on Sunday, April 19 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Come meet these candidates to learn more about what they envision for Kansans in the Big First District.
Lauren Reinhold
Lauren Reinhold has been a proud Kansan for 32 years, a public interest attorney for 28 years, and a lifelong advocate for working people. She spent over two decades in federal service at the Social Security Administration, fighting to make government more accessible, accountable, and centered on the people it serves. As a union officer and former investigator for the National Labor Relations Board, Lauren stood up to corporate abuse, defended collective bargaining rights, and worked to ensure workers had a real voice on the job. When federal programs protecting working families were slashed and politicized, Lauren chose to step up and run for Congress, because the next generation deserves leaders who will fight, not fold.
She’s running to protect Social Security and Medicare, defend labor rights, invest in rural and urban communities alike, and take on concentrated corporate power that’s hollowing out Kansas. Lauren believes the government should work for students, workers, and families — not lobbyists and billionaires — and that together we can build a more just, equitable, and prosperous future for all Kansans.

Colin McRoberts
Colin McRoberts wasn’t born in Kansas. He chose it. And he is going to keep choosing Kansas.
His career has always been about solving problems—first as a lawyer protecting family businesses from fraud, and now as an internationally recognized advisor on negotiation. Colin and his wife both teach at the University of Kansas, where he is a professor of negotiation and business law and she is a science professor and bestselling author.
Colin lived in Kansas for years without any political involvement. That changed when he attended Senator Roger Marshall’s town hall in Oakley and watched him walk out rather than answer basic questions from his own constituents. It was clear Kansans weren’t being heard. McRoberts is not a politician or a wealthy man, but it’s time for regular people to step up because our politicians won’t fix this themselves.
Colin McRoberts is fighting for his neighbors, for accountability, and for a representative who works for the people—not a party. The First District belongs to the Kansas people, and his plan is to finally make this a real, competitive election and choose a stronger voice for Kansas.
