WICHITA, Kan. - Ritter Steinmann and Carter Allen, both of Kansas Wesleyan University, have earned the KCAC Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from April 7-13 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
Pitcher of the Week
Ritter Steinmann - Kansas Wesleyan University
Sr. | RHP | Oroville, Calif.Steihmann pitched in three games of four played this week, including two appearances in the Tabor series. He tossed an inning, striking out two in the win over Sterling on Tuesday. Then, in the weekend series, he went two and a third innings only allowing two hits and striking out three, earning the save in the 11-8 win over Tabor. He then toed the rubber again on Sunday going three and a third helping hold Tabor's high powered offense at bay allowing just one run on three hits with three strikeouts as KWU completed a key series sweep over the Bluejays. The victories keep KWU tied with Oklahoma Wesleyan for the top spot in the KCAC.
