Fireworks, yard games and barbecue delights flew off the shelves this week as families and organizations gear up for many Fourth of July celebrations across town. One of those celebrations plans to bring all the popular aspects of the Fourth of July to Oakdale Park on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/SalinaParksAndRecreation">Salina Parks and Recreation</a>, Play Day in the Park began decades ago to bring a family-friendly Fourth of July event to Salina residents.

Play Day in the Park plans to provide visitors with activities like family-friendly games, face painting, live entertainment and more, all contained within Oakdale Park.
