MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State Athletics Director Gene Taylor announced Monday that four staff members have earned new titles or promotions.
In the area of operations, Casey Scott is now the Executive Associate Athletics Director for Capital Projects and Operational Initiatives; Brian Cordill has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director of Operations & Facilities and will serve on the department’s senior staff; and Jake Lamb has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director of Facilities. Additionally, Scott Trausch has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director of Sports Diet and Nutrition.
“We have a tremendous staff, which includes a group of administrators who are ready to take that next step in their careers,” Taylor said. “Brian is ready to lead our facilities and events operations areas after 18 years at K-State and will now be a member of our senior staff team, while Jake has earned an expanded role in our facilities operation. Casey is one of our longest tenured administrators on staff and will continue to have a large impact on our capital projects in addition to his sport administrator roles. Scott is one of the brightest and most respected nutrition experts in his field and has been an important piece of our teams’ successes. When you have good people like we do, it is important to provide growth and opportunity, and I look forward to working with each of these staff members in their new roles.”
Scott is in his 42nd season in collegiate athletics administration and 25th at K-State after arriving in Manhattan in 2002. A 1977 graduate of K-State from Wichita, Kansas, he has served on the department’s senior staff and guided the internal operations staff since his arrival. In addition, Scott also serves as the sport administrator for men’s basketball, baseball, and men’s and women’s golf. On a national level, Scott currently serves on the NCAA Baseball Selection Committee in addition to the NCAA Baseball Oversight Committee.
A 2008 graduate of K-State from Buhler, Kansas, Cordill is entering his 18th year as a full-time employee. Most recently serving as an Associate Athletics Director for Event Operations, Cordill has managed home football, men’s and women’s basketball games in addition to postseason events, including NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament games, Big 12 Track and Field Championships and NCAA Regional Baseball Championships. He is a member of CEFMA and currently serves as a member of the Athletics Safety & Security Advisory Committee for NCS4.
Lamb has worked nearly six years at K-State where he leads and supervises facility maintenance, custodial and grounds staff. He also oversees preventative maintenance programs for buildings, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems. A veteran of the United States Army, Lamb came to K-State after working as an electrician for various jobs.
