A Kansas man reportedly left his vehicle running before it was stolen from Salina on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on July 15 at about 12:00 pm, officers came into contact with a 78-year-old male from Clyde, KS.
The man said he stopped in the 1500 block of N. 9th to use the restroom and when he returned, his maroon 2006 Chevy Silverado was reportedly gone.
The vehicle was bearing a Kansas disabled tag C3266.
An individual mowing in the area observed the vehicle driving westbound on the levee. When they approached the vehicle for being on the levee, the truck continued westbound onto Euclid.
The vehicle was valued at $7500.
Suspect description by SPD:
- White male with glasses.
- Medium build, possibly 30-40 years old.
The Salina Police Department wishes to remind citizens not to leave their vehicles running and unattended no matter how short of time they are leaving their vehicle and also to keep their vehicles secured.
