KANSAS CITY, Kan.&nbsp;— The Kansas City Monarchs (11-10) completed a trade on Sunday, as the club acquired RHP Gregori Vasquez from the Gary&nbsp;SouthShore&nbsp;RailCats&nbsp;(12-12)&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;player&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;named later.

Vasquez,&nbsp;23,&nbsp;started&nbsp;four&nbsp;games&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;RailCats&nbsp;in&nbsp;2021.&nbsp;The&nbsp;right-hander&nbsp;went&nbsp;1-2&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;3.63&nbsp;ERA&nbsp;—&nbsp;striking&nbsp;out&nbsp;23&nbsp;and&nbsp;walking&nbsp;just three in 17 and a third innings.&nbsp;Vasquez last pitched against the&nbsp;Monarchs on Thursday in Gary. The 23-year-old tossed five and a third innings and allowed three runs on&nbsp;eight hits with eight strikeouts.

Vasquez made 52 starts across five minor&nbsp;league seasons in the Cleveland Indians’ organization.&nbsp;The&nbsp;right-hander posted a career 3.36 ERA with a&nbsp; 1.152&nbsp;WHIP&nbsp;in&nbsp;356&nbsp;innings.&nbsp;He&nbsp;last&nbsp;pitched&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;major league organization in 2019 for&nbsp;the&nbsp;Arizona&nbsp;League Indians (Rookie Ball).
