Loren Lewis Stubby, 85, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 11:00 a.m, Friday, October 14th, 2022 at his residence.
Loren was born in Hillsboro, Kansas on May 29, 1937, a son of Edna (Unruh) Stubby and Jacob Stubby.
Loren attended grade school in rural Marion County and graduated from Lehigh High School, Lehigh, Kansas in 1956.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Through the years Loren worked as farmer and stockman for over 50 years. He previously had worked as a lineman for the City of McPherson.
He enjoyed driving draft horses, hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his friends and family, especially his kids and grandkids.
Loren L. Stubby was united in marriage to Josephine "Jo" Guy on September 3, 1960 at McPherson, Kansas. She died on April 23, 2005.
He is survived by his children Kendall Stubby of McPherson, Kansas, and Teresa Bowman and her husband Mark of Alliance, Nebraska; his sister Helen Saylor of Newton, Kansas, and his brother Jerry Stubby and his wife Sharon of Inman, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jo; his sisters Lila and Janet and his brothers Donavan, Gilmer, Earl and Rodney.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Chapel in McPherson, Kansas.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Chapel in McPherson, Kansas with Tim Leaf officiating.
Burial will be at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.
