Jessica Dawn Schmidt, 19, recently of Moundridge, Kansas, formerly of Fruitland, Idaho, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022. She was born on August 6, 2003 in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Justin Lee and Lynette Joy (Becker) Schmidt.
She attended Prairie Mennonite School in Illinois. Jessica was a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.
For the last year, Jessica was a patient care assistant at Edgewood Assisted Living in Idaho. She recently moved to Moundridge, Kansas where she was planning to begin taking her CNA training and begin work at Moundridge Manor.
She is survived by her parents Justin and Lynette Schmidt; sister Kayla Schmidt; brother Andrew Schmidt; paternal grandparents Wayne and Winona Schmidt; maternal grandmother Myrtle Becker; and many extended family and friends.
Jessica was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Howard R. Becker; infant cousin Elizabeth Ann Cole; and aunt Charlotte Cole.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Gospel Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Moundridge, KS. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services in Idaho will be announced later. Burial will take place at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth, ID.
