A Kansas man avoided injury after a small plane accident just after noon Thursday in Salina.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1968 Beech Fixed Wing Multi-Engine Aircraft piloted by Joseph P Pinkley, 62, DeSoto,  was landing at Salina Regional Airport on a southbound runway.

The right side landing gear failed causing aircraft to strike the ground on the right side. The aircraft then left the runway  spun around coming to rest facing north.

Pinkley was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
