Two people were injured late Saturday night after a car struck a barricade on Interstate 135 in Saline County.

According to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, the crash occurred at approximately 11:02 p.m. Saturday. A 2013 Cadillac Allante was traveling southbound on I-135 when the driver, identified as 33-year-old Aidee Ramirez of Wichita, is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel.

The vehicle struck a barricade at the beginning of a construction zone in the median.

Ramirez and her 13-year-old daughter, who was a passenger in the vehicle, were both injured in the crash. They were transported by Salina EMS to Salina Regional Health Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
