UPDATE: Sunday wind advisories issued for some area counties

UPDATE 6:50 p.m. Saturday: Additional area counties now have wind advisories for Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a wind advisory in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

Marion County

McPherson County

Saline County

South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Persons on area lakes should use caution and expect choppy conditions. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a wind advisory in effect fro 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday for the following counties in our area.

Clay County

Cloud County

Dickinson County

Ottawa County

South winds at 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Gusty winds could also cause problems for boaters on area lakes this weekend. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle.
