Mary Rose Wiltzius

Mary Rose Wiltzius, 94, of Clifton, died Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde.  She was born on May 5 1926 at Aurora, the daughter of Joseph H. and Ella C. (Brunell) DeMars.  Mary graduated from the Aurora Catholic High school in 1944.  She married Paul Petersen and they made there home in Kansas City.  While living in Kansas City she worked as an airline scheduler. Paul preceded her in death at a young age.  After her husband’s death she moved back to Aurora and worked at the Aurora COOP.  She later married Earl Wiltzius on April 28, 1956.  They lived in rural Clifton where they farmed.  Earl preceded her in 1980.  She moved from the farm into Clifton in 1982.  Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters.  She taught Catechism and CCD.  She was also a member of the Clifton American Legion Auxiliary, Graduates, Clifton Historical Society, and the Clifton Senior Center.  In addition to her husbands,  Mary is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sharon Rae Petersen; son, Roy Wiltzius; brothers, Harold, Merle, C. Dale Demars, and Curtis Demars; sisters, Glorianne Demars, and Nada Sicard and son-in-law, Gary Hubert.

Sister-In-Law: Madeline Demars of Concordia, KS

7 Grandchildren: Aaron Marshall of Manhattan, KS, Mark (Lori) Porter of Clyde, KS, Brent (Barbara) Hubert of Clyde, KS, Lee Hubert of Beloit, KS, Stacy (Curtis) Wiedmaier of Muscotah, KS, Leslie (Deric) Tibbs of Haysville, KS and Andrea (Luke) Brainard of Steamboat Springs, CO

 20 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren

Funeral Services: Monday, September 14, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clifton, KS

Minister: Father Steve Heina

Burial: St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery

Visitation: Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 4-7 PM with Vigil beginning at 7:00, at St. Mary Catholic Church
