David Michael Balaun

David Michael Balaun, 79, was born in Salina, KS on April 7, 1945 to Harry and Alma Balaun.
He passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
He graduated from Salina High School in 1963. David worked at Beechcraft until moving to Las Vegas, NV in 1972 where he worked for Centel telephone company. In 1991, he returned to Salina and worked for USD 305 until his retirement in 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings, Jack Balaun and Elaine Wismar.
David is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce Balaun, his 8 children, Todd (Faith), Jeromey (Vicki), Jincy Schessl, Andy (Becky), Isaac, Lizzie Stone (Brett), Jody Cline (Matthew), Nick (Whitney), 18 grandchildren and his brother Larry Balaun (Marilyn).
The family will receive visitors Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. During this time, a rosary will be prayed from 6:30-7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on June 12th at 10 a.m., Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Memorials me be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral or Salinans for Life.
