JEWELL COUNTY - An earthquake shook part of western Jewell County Sunday afternoon.

The 3.3 magnitude quake struck at 1:54 p.m. Sunday a few miles east of the Jewell-Smith county line, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered north-northeast of the F Road-30 Road intersection.
