Salina was a bit warmer and drier than normal during the month of June.
During that time period, the average maximum temperature was 89 degrees, which was 0.9 of a degree above normal, according to information from the National Weather Service in Wichita. Additionally, the average minimum temperature was 66.1 degrees, which was 1.9 degrees above normal.
The highest temperature during June 2022 was 103 degrees on June 13, while the lowest was 48 degrees on June 2. The all-time high for June in Salina was 114 degrees on June 25, 1911, while the all-time low was 38 degrees on June 4, 1897, according to the National Weather Service.
Additionally, precipitation for Salina was just under normal. An official total of 3.74 inches of rain was reported during June 2022. That was 0.01 of an inch under normal precipitation for June, the weather service noted.
The all-time maximum precipitation for June was 13.62 inches in 1905, while the all-time minimum ws 0.18 of an inch in 1980.
The average wind speed in Salina during June was 11.2 mph. The highest wind speed (45 mph) and highest wind gust (56 mph) both were recorded on June 21.
