With an 8-5 win over the Osage City Indians, the SES Trojan baseball team is through to the regional championship later this evening.

Southeast of Saline now sits at 20-1 overall with a chance to punch their ticket to state while Osage City ends their season at 10-11.

After a long stretch of days off, the Trojan bats took some time to get going again. Heading into the fourth inning neither team had managed to find a run.

On the pitching side of things however, SES looked excellent as Landen Allen allowed just one hit through the first five innings of the game.

In the fourth, the Trojan bats came alive as Drew Richardson, Jaxson Gebhardt and Bryant Banks strung together three huge hits to give SES a 5-0 lead.

Southeast added a run in the fifth but the Indians found late life, scoring five quick runs to make it a ballgame.

The Trojans responded well, collecting two insurance runs and sending Bryant Banks out to slam the door shut on an 8-5 SES victory.

Southeast now awaits the winner of the other semifinal between Hesston and Eureka with the regional final scheduled to begin 30 minutes after that game in Emporia.
