A patron who apparently was disgruntled with a mounted deer head caused an estimated $1,000 damage in a Salina tavern.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that sometime between 12:30-1:30 a.m. Saturday, an apparently intoxicated man who was leaving Hank's Tavern, 116 S. Broadway, started punching a deer head that was mounted on the wall. The one-sided bashing knocked the deer head off the wall, causing an antler to break.
Damage was estimated at $1,000.
Forrester said police had identified a possible suspect. An arrest had not yet been made.
It is unknown what provoked the deer drubbing.
