LAWRENCE, KAN. – Kansas’ Jared Casey was named Second Team Academic All-America as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday. The team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Casey, from Plainville, Kansas, earns his first CSC Academic All-America honor with a 3.91 GPA in Sport Management at KU. Casey becomes the 15th Jayhawk in program history to earn the Academic All-America distinction, including the fifth in the past three seasons, joining Mason Fairchild (2023), Jalon Daniels (2022), Sam Burt (2022) and Earl Bostick Jr (2002).
Casey recently finished his senior season as a Jayhawk, earning First Team All-Big 12 honors in 2024. Casey was fifth on the team with 18 receptions for 203 yards and two touchdowns as a senior. He was previously named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, and he was on the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List.
