A Salina woman was transported to Salina Regional Health Center (SRHC) on Saturday following a single-vehicle accident in west Salina.
The Salina Police Department reported to 1661 West Republic Avenue shortly after 10 a.m. on Dec. 9 to reports of a vehicle accident involving a modular home.
When officers arrived at the scene they discovered the victim, 88-year-old Audrey Hutton, and her 2011 Hyundai Elantra resting on the porch of a modular home.
"She was driving northbound in the trailer park and when she reached a stop sign instead of stopping she just kept going straight and into the deck of a trailer destroying it in the process," Tonniges said.
Hutton was transported by EMS to the SRHC with minor injuries. According to Tonniges the damage to the home and vehicle was significant, but he did not specify the exact cost of damages or whether or not the home was still habitable.
