WICHITA, Kan. - Chihiro Iwata was selected as the 2026 KCAC Flag Football Offensive Player of the Year headlining Kansas Wesleyan's Flag Football All-KCAC selections. KWU had a total of 15 All-KCAC selections this season.
The All-KCAC teams are selected by the conference coaches.
Iwata earned an individual award from the conference for a third consecutive season this year. She was named the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year, the 2025 Co-Player of the Year and earned Offensive Player of the Year honors a second time this season.
In conference play she led the KCAC in passing, throwing for 264.9 yards per game and 36 touchdowns and 2384 yards in nine games. She completed 66.7 percent of passes during the conference season. Overall in 18 games, Iwata threw for 5194 yards and 72 touchdowns, leading the KCAC in passing per game at 288.6 yards per contest. She completed 70.5 percent of passes on the season. She ranked second in the conference in conference play only in pass efficiency (113.8), and led the conference in total offense at 287.1 yards per game. Her season totals set new career highs in every category for the Coyotes as she has over 12700 yards passing in her career at KWU.
Aliyah Wood was named to the All-KCAC First Team at wide receiver and defensive back. In conference play, Wood led the conference in receiving yards per game at 90.6, receiving yards at 815, receptions at 75 and ranked second in touchdown receptions with 14. She also led the KCAC in all-purpose yards at 96.3 per game and 867 total. Overall in 18 games she also led the KCAC in all the above-mentioned categories. Defensively, Wood was a shutdown defensive back for the Coyotes, recording six interceptions during the full season and was responsible for defending the top receivers for the opponents, limiting their chances.
Jazmine Whitfield was named to the All-KCAC First Team at wide receiver. In conference play she had 43 receptions for 502 yards, ranking ninth in the KCAC in receiving yards and ranked eighth in the conference in receiving yards per game. Overall she ranked eighth in receiving yards per game and sixth in total receiving yards and ninth in total receptions.
Leila Casillan was named to the All-KCAC First Team as a screen blocker. Providing protection for the quarterback, Casillan was a big part of helping the Coyotes rank second in the KCAC in total offense at 327.9 yards per game during conference play and third in scoring offense at 30.7 points per game. She also ranked 16th in the KCAC in rushing yards per game, averaging 6.0 yards per contest.
Khylie Douglas was named to the All-KCAC First Team as a rusher. Douglas ranked sixth in the KCAC in flag pulls for loss with 11, averaging 1.4 per game in eight conference game appearances. She also ranked 11th in the KCAC in sacks with six and was 10th in sacks per game at 0.8.
Ava Duerr a Second Team All-KCAC selection at linebacker. The sophomore compiled 47 total flag pulls in nine conference games for the Coyotes ranking No. 12 in the KCAC in that category. Overall she had 12 pass breakups, ranking No. 21 in the conference and had 98 total flag pulls which ranked fourth best in the conference in all games played.
Zo Lucas was named to the All-KCAC Second Team at linebacker. In six conference games, she had two interceptions including returning one for a touchdown. She also had 16 flag pulls and three pass breakups. Overall she had 46 flag pulls, four interceptions and five pass breakups.
Samari McKinney was a Second Team All-KCAC pick at defensive back. She had 31 flag pulls overall on the season and two interceptions. She had 18 flag pulls in conference play for the Coyotes.
Aaliyah Young was named Second Team All-KCAC as a punt team specialist and Honorable Mention All-KCAC at wide receiver. In conference play, Young averaged 23.5 yards per punt on 10 punts. Overall, she averaged 28.3 yards per punt. At the receiver position, she had 64 catches on the season for 498 yards and seven touchdowns. She ranked No. 17 in the KCAC in receptions overall and No. 20 in conference play with 28.
Jenise Washington was named to the Honorable Mention All-KCAC team at wide receiver. In nine conference games, Washington had 17 receptions for 166 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 18.4 yards per game. Benefitting from outstanding performances in the postseason, Washington finished the year ranked No. 16 in the KCAC in total receptions with 66 and No. 12 in the conference with 835 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, boosting her per game average to 46.4 yards per game.
Yui Watanabe was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC at center. During the conference portion of the season she had 26 receptions for 231 yards and three touchdowns. She ranked No. 27 in the conference in receptions and receiving yards. She ranked No. 18 in receiving yards per game at 33.0 in conference play. Overall she had 67 receptions for 538 yards on the season, ranking No. 14 in receptions and No. 19 in receiving yards.
Ansdiane Rabano was named to the Honorable Mention All-KCAC team at rusher. In nine conference games she had 31 flag pulls that included two for loss and a sack. Overall she had 41 flag pulls.
Laura Hernandez Sanchez was named to the Honorable Mention All-KCAC team as a utility player. Most of her successes came on defense for the Coyotes. In conference play she had three interceptions and two sacks in nine games for the Coyotes. Overall in 17 games, Hernandez Sanchez had six interceptions which ranked No. 13 in the KCAC and had 16 passes defended which ranked No. 15 in the conference. She also had 56 flag pulls on the season which ranked No. 38 in the conference.
